Berks business teams up with Alex's Lemonade Stand

A Wyomissing company is teaming up with a well-known charity.

Officials with Alex's Lemonade Stand visited TRIOSE headquarters in Wyomissing, as Triose prepares to kick off a week-long fundraiser to raise money for children battling cancer.

Alex's mom, Liz Scott, was there Wednesday. She shared the story of how Alex's Lemonade Stand got started.

She said Alex was just four years old but she was determined to help others.

"So she started selling lemonade in our front yard to raise money for research and for new cures. And with the help of many other people contributing she was able to raise a million dollars before she died at the age of eight," Scott said.

Since then, Scott says Alex's Lemonade Stand has raised more than $140 million for pediatric cancer patients and research.
