S. HEIDELBERG TWP., Pa. - There was a bit of chill in the air, and a bit of frost on our cars on Sunday morning, just in time for the Jack Frost Parade in Berks.

The parade kicked off at Conrad Weiser Middle School at 3 p.m.

Families and community members lined the streets to ring in the holiday spirit now that Halloween has passed.

But for many families, events like this mean more.

"The parade to us means more bonding time, it's the kick off of a great celebration of Christmas, you know you get in the Christmas cheer. We just had Halloween, and now it's time to get in the Christmas mode, and this is what that means to us. Kicking off that jolliness that you're going to feel through the month until December," said Monica Yeakley of Wernersville.

The organizers of the parade also give out two scholarships to Conrad Weiser seniors and collect non-perishable food items to donate to Conrad Weiser Food Pantry.
