A Berks County woman who stole more than $30,000 from the group for which she served as treasurer has entered a program for first-time offenders.
Tara Crouthamel was accepted by a judge into the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program, a pre-trial intervention program for non-violent offenders with no prior or limited record, for two years.
If Crouthamel successfully completes the program, she can petition the court to have her charges dismissed and the case expunged from her record.
A condition of Crouthamel's acceptance into the program, according to her attorney, was restitution of the approximately $31,000 she stole from the Daniel Boone Music Boosters between August 2014 and November 2017. The money has been paid back to the club.
