READING, Pa. - Hard work in school can pay off for students in Berks County with a free trip to the ballpark this spring.

The Reading Fightin Phils have teamed up with Capital BlueCross to launch the Hard Work in School Pays Off program.

The initiative will provide local schools that register for the free program with tickets to distribute to their students and teachers as a reward for their hard work.

The program allows each school to decide its own benchmarks, i.e. grades, test scores, positive behavior, attendance, etc., for distributing the tickets.

The honorees will be given four tickets to celebrate their achievements at one of 11 games in April. They'll also have the opportunity to meet an R-Phils player, take photos with the team's mascots, and be entered into a raffle to win prizes.

The 11 games are:

  • April 10 vs New Hampshire, 7:10 p.m.
  • April 11 vs New Hampshire, 5:15 p.m.
  • April 13 vs. Akron, 6:45 p.m.
  • April 14 vs. Akron, 6:45 p.m.
  • April 15 vs. Akron, 2:15 p.m.
  • April 23 vs. Portland, 6:45 p.m.
  • April 24 vs. Portland, 7:10 p.m.
  • April 25 vs. Portland, 6:15 p.m.
  • April 27 vs. Richmond, 6:45 p.m.
  • April 28 vs. Richmond, 6:45 p.m.
  • April 29 vs. Richmond, 6:45 p.m.
