MAIDENCREEK TWP., Pa. - PennDOT made sure some businesses in Berks County had back-up power while crews moved utility poles on Route 222.

The project started Saturday morning in Maidencreek Township. The power had to be cut off, but businesses at the Coliseum Place were able to stay open thanks to generators set up by PennDOT.

Met-Ed was moving the power lines away from the highway so PennDOT can move ahead with widening the road and other improvements.
