READING, Pa. - A top Reading city official is preparing to leave his post.
Ralph Johnson told 69 News on Monday that he is resigning as the city's public works director, effective at the end of December.
Johnson is also giving up his position on a number of local boards and commissions, including the Reading Area Water Authority.
Johnson said his reasons for leaving are "personal." He has been with the city for nearly 15 years, with the past five years spent in his current role.
Johnson said he has lined up another job, however, he added that he's not ready to identify his new employer.
