READING, Pa. - Two men in their 20s robbed the Family Dollar store in the 300 block of North Fourth Street in Reading on Jan. 6, according to police.
"The call went out as a robbery in progress at the Family Dollar store," said acting Deputy Chief Javier Ruiz, Reading Police Department.
The call came in just before 4 p.m. The two robbers walked in and pointed a handgun at the cashier, said police, adding that the men got away with about $300.
"Cameras caught them last running south on Madison [Avenue]," said Ruiz.
One woman who lives across the street from the store said she saw RPD officers swarm the store.
"When she went to the store, it was closed off because of all the policemen and all that," she said through a translator. "She came back scared. She doesn't really feel safe, and that it's not the first time that it happened."
The store was robbed in July 2016, according to 69 News archive reports. Police did not say whether there were any robberies since then.
