READING, Pa. — A person was taken to a hospital after reportedly being wounded by gunfire in southeast Reading.

RPD officers were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to the area of South 12th and Cotton streets.

Investigators have not released information about the shooting or the victim's condition.

The shooting came a day after two teens were hurt, one critically, when someone opened fire as they were walking in the area of North 10th and Spring streets Monday afternoon.

"I understand any city is going to have its ups and downs, but to have a lot of shootings in what, less than two weeks, or just back-to-back, that's unsafe," said witness Matthew Anoka.

Anyone with information about either shooting can contact Crime Alert Berks County by calling 877-373-9913 or by texting 847411, starting the message with keyword alertberks.
