AMITY TWP., Pa. - A woman who worked for a Berks County-based janitorial company stands accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from a client.

Denise Anastasio stole $76,483.10 in the form of unauthorized credit card charges and bank account withdrawals from an Amity Township woman, according to police.

One of the victim's credit cards, they said, was found to have had 168 fraudulent charges, totaling $38,409.85, between June 8 and August 30, 2019.

The woman's debit card and another credit card were also used, police said. 

The money was used to cover the costs of utility bills, fast food orders, and purchases through PayPal, according to court documents.

Anastasio, 36, of Exeter Township, faces several charges, including forgery, fraud, and identity theft. She's free on $25,000 bail.
