A Berks County man was caught using the identity of a deceased Puerto Rico resident in order to obtain a Pennsylvania driver's license, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The man was arrested in New York on June 14 for unrelated offenses, according to a news release from state police.
When interviewed by police, it was revealed that he had been using the identity of a deceased person from Puerto Rico in order to get a state driver's license, authorities said.
Pennsylvania State Police were contacted, and investigators said they discovered the license was obtained in 2010.
The statute of limitations is expired, and the suspect will not be prosecuted, police said, adding that the fraudulent driver's license record will be revoked and canceled.
