READING, Pa. - Reading FilmFest is preparing for a big milestone.

Its organizers began training volunteers at Centro Hispano in the city's downtown.

It comes a week before the 10th edition of the Festival kicks off.

The festival celebrates the work of local filmmakers along with diverse creators from across the country.

The FilmFest's volunteers wear many hats, both before and during the event, "Promoting the festival, stuffing swag bags, and then during the festival they're kind of our ambassadors in greeting people and making sure everybody gets where they need to be and where they need to go and just welcoming everyone to the festival," said Reading Film Office Executive Director Cammie Harris.

Organizers say they could still use a few more volunteers.

Reading FilmFest starts Thursday, October 10th with screenings at the IMAX Theater and GoggleWorks, and runs through Sunday.
