READING, Pa. — Reading's police chief updated the city council Monday night on the city's gun buyback program, which he announced is set for April 24.

Officials said people will essentially be selling their guns to the city without consequence, adding that donations, not taxpayer funds, will be used to fund the program.

They said the gun buyback program will be held at two different locations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., but final arrangements are still being made.

RPD officers will be deployed at both locations.
