SOUTH LONDONDERRY TWP., Pa. - Travel along Route 422 between Reading and Hershey will soon be made easier.
PennDOT said it plans to reopen a sinkhole-plagued stretch of Route 422 in North Londonderry Township, Lebanon County, near Palmyra, either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
That's about two weeks earlier than originally thought.
Traffic was detoured off Route 422 in May, when sinkholes opened up near the Sinkhole Saloon and Palmyra Bowling Center, creating a "substantial depression" near the road.
Work to address the problem involved pouring a concrete slab to provide more stability to the road.
