READING, Pa. - Federal and local law enforcement authorities have made an arrest in the shooting of a man in Berks County earlier this month.
Members of the Berks County sheriff's warrants unit and the U.S. Marshal's task force said they apprehended Alexander Cotto in the 1000 block of Pear Street on Wednesday.
Cotto, 18, had been sought on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
The charges stem from the shooting of a man during a drug deal in the area of Montrose Avenue and Duke Street in Laureldale on Feb. 1, authorities said.
The 18-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to his chest.
Also arrested with Cotto was 32-year-old Aaron Copeland, who was wanted by Reading police for allegedly violating a protection from abuse order.
During the arrests, authorities said they recovered two firearms, one that Copeland had in his possession and another believed to have been thrown away by Cotto.
