TILDEN TWP., Pa. - Firefighters in Berks County made quick work of a two-alarm fire near Hamburg.

The initial call, shortly before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, was for the report of a vehicle fire spreading to a home at 5 Holly Drive in Tilden Township, not far from Old Route 22.

Police arrived on the scene and reported that flames were melting the front of the house, and smoke was extending inside.

Fire officials struck a 2nd alarm, but firefighters managed to make quick work of the blaze, allowing officials to declare it under control about 20 minutes after the first dispatch.

Everyone inside the house was reported to have gotten out safely.
