Welding accident in Penn Township

PENN TWP., Pa. - A man was injured in a welding accident in Berks County.

Paramedics were dispatched shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday to the 5000 block of Bernville Road, also designated as Route 183, in Penn Township.

Officials told 69 News that the welder suffered a head injury and cuts when a canister exploded.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was reported to be conscious and talking when first responders arrived on the scene.
