EXETER TWP., Pa. — A Berks County woman died of injuries that she suffered in a crash involving her motorcycle and an SUV in Exeter Township.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Sunday on Route 562, also known as Boyertown Pike, near Ritters and Loder roads.

The motorcyclist, identified by the coroner as Cassie Jade Nichols, 38, of Douglass Township, was traveling east on Route 562 when she crossed onto the westbound side and struck the SUV, according to the police.

Nichols was rushed to the trauma center at Reading Hospital, where she died nearly an hour later, according to the coroner, who said that she was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 66-year-old woman from Kenhorst, suffered minor injuries, the police said.
