LONGSWAMP TWP., Pa. - A 23-year-old man died while skiing at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Berks County on Monday.
The coroner identified the man as Matthew Rosenstein of Arlington, Virginia. He died of multiple injuries.
Rosenstein struck snow-blowing equipment while skiing around 2 p.m. Monday, according to the coroner.
69 News reached out to Bear Creek, which provided the following statement:
"On Monday our ski patrol responded to the report of an injured skier. When ski patrol arrived at the scene the individual was alert and responsive. He did have a helmet, but was not wearing it at the time. Patrol tobogganed the individual to our patrol room while simultaneously calling for Topton ambulance and he was immediately transported via advanced life support to Lehigh Valley Hospital."
