Becky's Drive-In

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Pa. -- Even though managers at Becky's Drive-In Theatre say that local representative and law enforcement gave their blessing to reopen, Lehigh Township Police Department says otherwise.

In a statement released Saturday by Chief of Police Scott Fogel, Lehigh Township Police say they did not give any permission for Becky's to open.

"At no time did the owner or manager speak with me regarding opening," says Chief of Police Scott Fogel.

Authorities say, Becky's was issued a verbal warning Friday night that they were opened in violation of the Governor's order.

"Whether the police agree with the order is not relevant," says Fogel. "We still have a duty to recognize the law and enforce it if necessary. I am afraid Becky's was given some inaccurate information with regard to opening."
