A man is suing Northampton County and its sheriff's office after he fell while stepping out of a prisoner transport van.

David Trump, of Northampton, says sheriff's deputies failed to help him get out of the van after it arrived at a state prison in Montgomery County in 2019.

Trump says he fell and cracked his skull because his hands were cuffed and his legs were shackled.

A lawyer for the Northampton County sheriff's office has filed a motion, asking a judge to dismiss Trump's lawsuit.
