ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Lehigh County commissioners advanced an audit about the county's 2019 finances during Wednesday night's meeting.
"The county's assets and deferred outflows of resources exceeded liabilities and deferred inflows of resources by about $59.2 million at the close of the 2019 fiscal year," wrote Zelenkofske Axelrod, who issued the audit.
The county has $488.6 million in total assets at the end of last year and total liabilities of $414.4 million for the $59.2 million total net position.
The bill will have its second and final reading next month.
In other business, commissioners approved extending an agreement with Cornerstone Advisors Asset Management. The company provides investment consulting services to the Lehigh County Retirement Fund. The extension is for one year and concludes June 30, 2021.
Another deal commissioners approved involves Actuarial Solutions to provide actuarial services for Lehigh County's HealthChoices Behavioral Health program. The pact is for three years and ends June 30, 2023. Both bills were forwarded on their first readings.
In other news, commissioners approved the reappointments of William Erdman and Daniel Hunsicker to the Lehigh County Conservation District. Their terms end Dec. 31, 2023. The board also reappointed Scott Bieber, Thomas Gettings, David Smith and Peter Wisser to the Sterling Raber Agricultural Land Preservation Board. All terms run through May 31, 2023.
