Bolete named most popular restaurant in state

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A popular Lehigh Valley eatery is in the running to receive the highest culinary honor in the country.

Bolete has been nominated for the James Beard award for "Outstanding Restaurant." The fine-dining restaurant in Bethlehem is among hundreds of other semi-finalists, including restaurants in large cities, that are recognized for their menu, chefs, and hospitality.

Other restaurants nominated include the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco, Michael's Genuine Food and Drink in Miami, and Komi in Washington, D.C., an American-Mediterranean restaurant.

The James Beard award is so prestigious, it's sometimes called the "Oscars" of the food world.

Final nominees will be announced in Philadelphia on Wednesday, March 25.
