Reilly McGinnis

MACUNGIE, Pa. - A Lehigh County native has risen to the head of the class at West Point.

Cadet Reilly McGinnis of Macungie will assume the role of First Captain.

That's the highest position in the cadet chain of command at the military academy, meaning McGinnis will hold the most senior ranking of the 4400 cadets.

McGinnis is a 2017 graduate of Emmaus High School. She's only the sixth woman in history to be named First Captain at West Point.
