HELLERTOWN, Pa. - Police in Northampton County are investigating an armed home invasion Tuesday night.

Around 10:15 p.m., a man entered a garage in the 1500 block of Brookstone Place in Hellertown and came into contact with the homeowner, police said.

The man pointed a gun at the homeowner and demanded money.

The victim's wife heard the incident and opened the door from inside the house, police said. The robber pointed the gun at her and she slammed and locked the door then called 911.

The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s, about 5-foot-9, 175 pounds, and wearing a black or dark gray coat.

Investigators do not believe it was random, police told 69 News. No one was injured.

Police are asking anyone in the area who may have information or surveillance footage to call them at 610-838-7040 or email jdonato@hellertownpd.org.
