ALLENTOWN, Pa. - State and local leaders joined early childhood education advocates in Allentown Thursday to address funding and staffing shortages.

Representatives Michael Schlossberg and Peter Schweyer visited the Judith Chase Early Learning Center, which is part of the Lehigh Valley Children's Centers network.

Advocates said early childcare centers are understaffed and their workers are underpaid.

They want better wages for employees and larger investments in early childhood education.
