EASTON, Pa. - Before hundreds of people take a dip in the Delaware River in Easton on Saturday morning, 30 people will have taken 23 dips in an outdoor pool beforehand.

The super polar plungers are part of an elite group that pledges $500 or more to Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.

Starting at noon on Friday, the super polar plungers plunge every hour, on the hour, for 24 hours with the last plunge in the Delaware River on Saturday morning.

"Most of the people that are participating in the super plunge have a connection…many of them are friends with Northampton County Special Olympics,” said Amanda Sechrist of Northampton County Special Olympics.

The super polar plunge is held at the Grand Eastonian Hotel and Suites in Easton.
