ALLENTOWN, Pa. - One person was shot near a church in Allentown Tuesday afternoon, city police said.
The shooting happened in the area of Seventh and Chew streets around 4 p.m. One person fled in a vehicle, and one person was seen running away, said Capt. John Hill.
Police believe the shooting happened in a car outside of the church, Capt. Hill said. No word on the person's condition.
Witnesses at the scene told 69 News three shots were fired from a grey car at a man on the sidewalk. After the shots were fired the man ran toward a nearby church and fell near the church's main entrance. He then got up and went into a door in the farthest end of the church, witnesses said.
Police are investigating.
