Road - street closed sign

BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. - A Northampton County road is closed due to a sinkhole.

The sinkhole was discovered Wednesday on Oakland Road between Hecktown Road and Harvard Place in Bethlehem Township.

The township manager says a water line broke, causing the hole to open.

Crews fixed the line Wednesday night, but officials say the hole can't be filled until Friday.

A temporary covering was placed over it for now.

The road is expected to reopen by the end of the day Friday.
