Teen dies after hit by car in Coolbaugh Township


A car accident almost 13 years ago is to blame for the death of a Lehigh County woman, the coroner's office said.

Janelle Bergandino, 37, died at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest Wednesday afternoon, according to a news release from the Lehigh County coroner's office.

She died from complications of injuries sustained in a crash on November 14, 2006, the coroner said.

Bergandino was the passenger in a vehicle that collided with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Route 222 and Farmington Road, also known as Route 863, in Upper Macungie Township, authorities said.

Her death has been ruled an accident.
