ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A woman was shot in Allentown early Wednesday morning, police said.

Officers were called around 1:30 a.m. to the area of the 500 block of West Gordon Street for a report of a shooting.

There they found a woman with a gunshot wound, police said. She was rushed to the hospital and her injury is not life-threatening, police said.

A male was reported to be leaving the area on foot after the incident.

The shooting is related to a specific residence in the area and was not random, investigators said.

Several police cars and the department's crime scene unit were in the area collecting evidence and taking photos.
