UPDATE: Coroner IDs 5-year-old killed in fall from Allentown apartment window

A 5-year-old has died after falling out of a fourth-story window in Allentown Tuesday night, the Lehigh County coroner said.

Around 6:45 p.m., Allentown police responded to the Livingston Building in the 1400 block of Hamilton Street.

Witnesses told 69 News they believe the child was in the kitchen.

"I heard a lot of screaming and a lot of commotion. The little girl fell from the fourth floor," said neighbor Reggie Mills.

Neighbors said a woman performed CPR on the girl who was then rushed to a nearby hospital by an officer.

The officer took the girl to St. Luke's Hospital and she was transferred to Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, said Allentown Police Assistant Chief Gail Struss.

The incident appears to be accidental, but the investigation is ongoing, she said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 a.m., the coroner said.
