PITTSBURGH - Two men have been arrested and a third is being sought in the shooting death of a baby who was struck by a stray bullet that went into his family's apartment during a shootout on a street in Pittsburgh.
Andre Crawford, 29, of McKeesport, and Marvin Hill Jr., 41, and Devon Thompson, 36, both of Spring Hill, were at the Three Rivers Manor apartment complex when they opened fire on each other on Aug. 24, the city police said Friday.
Zykier Young was sleeping inside his family's apartment when he was struck in the head by a bullet that traveled through a window and two walls before it hit him. The year-old boy died at a hospital several hours later.
"Any life taken is one too many," said Chief Scott Schubert, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. "To take a one-year-old child from their family, to not give them the future that they deserve is unacceptable and something that we will not tolerate."
Crawford and Hill are both behind bars in the Allegheny County Jail on charges of criminal homicide, attempted homicide and firearms offenses.
Thompson is still being sought. In addition to the homicide charges, he faces a charge of aggravated assault.
