LOWER PAXTON TWP., Pa. - The intense search for a missing Dauphin County girl came to an end Thursday morning with the teenager's safe return to her home near Harrisburg.

Lower Paxton Township police had asked for the public's help in locating 13-year-old Destiny Snyder after she disappeared from her home early Saturday morning.

The search involved the FBI, the National Park Service, and Pennsylvania State Police, the latter of whom combed a stretch of the Appalachian Trail on horseback.

The police provided no additional information about the girl's disappearance, except to say that they will continue to follow up with her and her family to ensure they have continued access to the services they need.
