HARRISBURG, Pa. - The state health department announced Friday that it plans to hire 1,000 additional contact tracers.

Officials say they've awarded a nearly $23-million contract to Insight Global.

They say they'll work together on hiring and training contact tracers, supervisors and managers.

The contract tracers will be paid between $18 and $22 an hour. Supervisors and resource managers will be paid between $22 and $24 an-hour.

Pennsylvania currently employs more than 650 contact tracers.
