A woman from central Pennsylvania is facing child endangerment and assault charges after authorities say her 16-year-old son weighed just 26 pounds.

Elizabet Estrada, of Chambersburg, recently brought her son to the doctor for the first time since he was 3 years old, authorities say.

He had gained just 3 pounds in the last 13 years of his life, and is only 3.5 feet tall due to malnutrition.

Court documents say the teen is so weak he can't even hold down food. He's been diagnosed with a slew of health issues.

Estrada says she homeschools her children and they don't have much contact with the outside world.

She has two adult children who are healthy. The boy and a sibling are now in foster care.
