Shooting at Threat Assessment Tactical Solutions in Stroudsburg

STROUDSBURG, Pa. - A man was charged in a shooting after police say he used a real gun instead of a fake one during a weapons training exercise last September.

Cody Saylor, 28, was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment in the shooting at Threat Assessment Tactical Solutions in Stroudsburg.

Saylor, of Allentown, was a role-player for a weapons training session on Sept. 15 when he shot Darin McMahon, 46, in the neck, investigators said.

Saylor had switched out his simulation gun for his personal Glock when he left for lunch, and failed to switch back before the afternoon session, said Stroud Area Regional police.

McMahon was paralyzed from the neck down.
