WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Luzerne County district attorney said police were justified when they shot and killed a man who allegedly abducted a teenage girl.

The DA says 20-year-old Jordan Oliver “continuously indicated he had a firearm” and threatened to shoot the 15-year-old victim before he was shot by police on December 1.

Officials said no firearm was found on Oliver.

State police said local officers had responded to Nanticoke High School for a report that Oliver had a knife to the victim's throat.

Investigators said Oliver sprayed Mace on the officers and took off in a Nanticoke police car with the girl.

Oliver and the girl were eventually located in a wooded area where the shooting happened.

The girl was not injured.
