POCONO TWP., Pa. - Two women were killed in a crash on Route 611 in Monroe County Monday night.
Two vehicles were involved in the wreck around 6:15 p.m. in the Scotrun area in Pocono Township, said emergency dispatchers.
Joan Garbinsky, 68, from Effort, and and her daughter, Karen Garbinsky, 50, from Hamilton Township, died at the scene, Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac said.
The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries. The manner of death was ruled accident.
Another person was taken to the hospital with injuries.
The Pocono Township Police Department is investigating the crash.
Route 611 was closed in both directions until almost 11 p.m.
