HAZLETON, Pa. - The city of Hazleton is keeping residents "in the know" with a new app.

The CodeRED app issues emergency, missing person and community alerts via push notifications to cell phones.

The app is free and can be downloaded through the App store or Google Play.

Hazleton's mayor says it's an additional tool to help inform the community and visitors about important information that may impact their safety.
