Police cruiser lights

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -  Police in Monroe County are investigating a shots fired incident.

The Stroud Area Regional Police Department responded to the report of shots fired shortly before 10 a.m. Monday at the 300 block of East Broad Street in East Stroudsburg, according to a police department news release.

Police found nine spent shell casings in the area and bullet holes in a nearby residence. Preliminary investigation shows that the shooting took place at approximately 5:20 a.m. and it is believed to be an isolated occurrence, according to the release.

Police are not aware of any injuries in the incident.
