BLM banner denied in Stroudsburg

STROUDSBURG, Pa. - Officials in Monroe County have rejected a petition to get the words "Black Lives Matter" painted on a street.

The Stroudsburg Borough Council voted to deny a proposal for the words to be painted around the Courthouse Square in the town.

The vote comes after nearly 300 people signed the petition on the website Change.org.

Borough council members say they'd like to see something supporting the movement, but in an appropriate venue.
