Lawsuit filed against Tamaqua School District over armed teachers policy

Larry Wittig, the Tamaqua School Board president, has been banned from sports following a sexual misconduct investigation.

The U.S. Center for SafeSport, an independent non-profit organization, handed down the decision on Sept. 27.

The center's website said the investigation involved alleged sexual misconduct involving a minor. The website did not list any other details about the case.

Wittig had been accused by rowers of pursuing them sexually as teens, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. It is unclear whether the allegations in the Inquirer's story were what SafeSport investigated.

69 News reached out to Wittig for comment.
