POTTSTOWN, Pa. - Two teenagers were seriously injured when the stolen car they were in crashed during a police chase in Pottstown on Wednesday, authorities said.
It all began around 9:45 a.m., when Pottstown officers spotted the car, a black Toyota Camry reported stolen in West Norriton Township, Montgomery County, and gave chase, according to Capt. Robert Thomas.
The chase ended a short time later, when the Camry and an SUV collided at North Keim and Beech streets in the borough. The stolen car then hit a nearby utility pole.
The two people in the stolen car had to be freed by first responders. They were transported to Reading Hospital for treatment of severe injuries, according to Thomas, who declined to release their names because of their ages.
Two people in the SUV were also hurt, but their injuries are not reported to be life-threatening, police said.
