EAST ROCKHILL TWP., Pa.- A state lawmaker is calling for the permanent closure of a quarry in Bucks County.

Senator Steve Santarsiero says he's concerned about health risks from asbestos at Rockhill Quarry in East Rockhill Township.

Recently the Department of Health said that any activity at the site poses a risk for workers and residents. Santarsiero says the quarry should be closed for good for that reason.

Mining activity at the site has been on hold since December 2018, when asbestos was discovered.
