DOYLESTOWN, Pa. -A man firing multiple shots in his home prompted a heavy police presence in Bucks County Thursday afternoon.

The man is in custody after a report of shots fired in Doylestown, officials said.

Police were called to the area of Belmont Square near the intersection of East and Court streets. A shelter in place for the area has been lifted, and evacuated residents are able to return to their homes, Doylestown Borough said in a tweet.

Police got a call around 4 p.m. for a man who had fired multiple shots in his home, Doylestown Borough Mayor Ron Strouse said. 

The mayor said he anticipates charges being filed against the man, who is in his early 20s. Police said they believe the man was on drugs. Police do not believe he was trying to kill himself.

The incident was resolved with no injuries.
