An 18-year-old has died and a 16-year-old is in extremely critical condition after a dirt bike accident in Bucks County Friday.
Raymond Horner was a passenger on the bike when it crashed around 4 p.m. in Bensalem Township, according to a news release from the police department. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Horner was a student at Bensalem High School.
The 16-year-old driver of the bike was taken to the hospital where he was listed in extremely critical condition, police said. His name has not been released.
The dirt bike, which was not street legal, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Virginia Avenue when it blew through a stop sign at the intersection with Tyler Avenue and hit an SUV, police said.
Both teens were thrown from the bike upon impact, officials said. Neither was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the SUV was also treated for minor injuries, police said. The driver is cooperating with police.
