2 more bands announced for Reading's Downtown Alive concerts

The Revolution on August 14; Local H on July 17

READING, Pa. - Two more acts are now in place for the upcoming Downtown Alive concert series on Penn Square in Reading.

The Downtown Improvement District announced Thursday that The Revolution -- the rock band assembled by Prince in 1983 -- will perform a free concert on Wednesday, August 14, and alt-rock duo Local H will headline the series' show on Wednesday, July 17.

Opening for The Revolution will be local DJ duo 3's Co., featuring DJ Gregg Nyce and Evolution; Local H's concert will be preceded by a performance by local alt-rock band Anthrophobia.

Other acts already announced in the series are Go Go Gadjet and DJ duo Black Caviar on May 29 and the Grammy Award-winning band A Flock of Seagulls on June 19.

The Downtown Improvement District said it will announce acts for its September 18 and mid-October concerts in the coming weeks.

The concerts will be held in the 500 block of Penn Street, starting at 5 p.m. The October show will be held in the 700 block of Penn Street as part of the Reading Royals' home opener festivities at the Santander Arena.
