Children's home worker sentenced for 'shocking' assault

READING, Pa. - An employee of a children's home in Berks County will spend time behind bars in a case of what the district attorney described as a "shocking" assault.

Lamar Miller pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of child endangerment and simple assault. He was sentenced to two to 23 months in jail.

Authorities arrested Miller last year while he worked at Bethany Children's Home in Heidelberg Township. They said he arranged for two teens to beat up another teen on a school bus.
