Concert to benefit Boyertown school stadium project

Stephanie Grace among performers set to appear

BOYERTOWN, Pa. - A community effort is underway to help fund needed repairs to Boyertown's high school football stadium.

A "Fundraising Concert for BASH Memorial Stadium" is set for October 7, with Berks County singer/songwriter Stephanie Grace, a 2015 graduate of Boyertown Area High School, headlining the event.

Kim and Paul of Vuja De, with Bryan Rojas, will serve as the opening act.

The concert is being put on by Friends of BASH Memorial Stadium, which was formed earlier this year, when the school board began discussing the future of the crumbling stadium, which was built in 1986.

The board voted unanimously in June to move forward plans to tear down and replace the stadium's grandstand, which has been closed out of concern over its structural integrity.

Tickets for the concert, set for 1 until 4 p.m. on October 7 in the high school auditorium, cost $20. They are for sale at a number of Boyertown-area businesses, including Adam's Royal Car Wash and Talarico's Sandwich Shop. They can also be purchased by emailing BASHStadium@gmail.com.

The Delaware County Solid Waste Authority, which is looking to expand its Rolling Hills Landfill in nearby Earl Township, is sponsoring the concert.
