Giant celebrates opening of beer, wine cafe at Cumru store

Variety of food available for eat-in, takeout

CUMRU TWP., Pa. - One of Giant's stores in Berks County has become the company's 101st to sell beer and wine.

The Carlisle-based supermarket chain is celebrating the opening of its latest Beer & Wine Eatery at the Giant at 600 East Lancaster Avenue in Cumru Township.

The 30-seat cafe, located adjacent to one of the store's two entrances, offers a variety of food for eat-in or takeout, including sandwiches, wraps, subs, and salads, along with a large selection of beer and wine.

"More than 300 varieties of both local and national brand beer and wine are available, bringing added convenience to the one-stop shopping experience for our customers," said Brooke Culbertson-Weiser, the store's manager. "Our associates have also completed additional training on the products available and are ready to assist customers in making their selections."

Giant said its employees are also trained to comply with the company's 100% proof-of-age policy, which requires a valid driver' s license, passport or military identification card from any customer who wants to buy alcohol, regardless of age.

The new eatery will be open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.
